M. WARTELLA is the award-winning Village Voice cartoonist who was profiled by
The New York Times as a pioneer of online animation in 1998.
In 2010, it was announced that Wartella's distinctive cartoons will be featured in each episode of Warner Bros. new primetime MAD animated television series which debuts this September on the Cartoon Network.
Since the new millennium, Wartella has drawn animated segments for MTV’s cult hit WONDER SHOWZEN (2005-2006) and contributed to animation in feature film The Ten (2007).
Additionally, he is a writer for the late night animated Adult Swim program SUPERJAIL!, which debuted to rave reviews in 2008.
As an illustrator and cartoonist, Wartella has contributed to publications including Interview, SPIN, Arthur, Vice, and Nickelodeon magazine.
He has created jacket artwork for best-selling books from Houghton Mifflin and Touchstone/Fireside, and is a creative contributor to the WACKY PACKAGES line of collectable trading cards from Topps.
Wartella has also been featured in D.C. Comics’ Bizarro World anthology as well as the Eisner and Harvey Awards nominated HOTWIRE anthology from FANTAGRAPHICS books.
